Sarah Frances Eisenbeis, 91, of Waco, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010. Mass of Resurrection will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Catherine's Chapel with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mrs. Eisenbeis was born in Sherman to Walter Brown and Mary Lindsey Brown. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She graduated from the St. Anthony School of Nursing in Oklahoma City with a RN degree. She served in WWII at Pearl Harbor as a Navy Nurse with the rank of Lieutenant. Mrs. Eisenbeis worked at Hillcrest Hospital, then for Dr. William Roddy, and later as a private duty nurse. She loved to travel, read, garden and swim; she was a quick-witted, very generous person who helped many people in Waco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank F. Eisenbeis; three sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Eisenbeis is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Eisenbeis and husband, Michael Helfert, Anne Harris and husband , Brent, all of Waco; grandson, Brian Tillman of Austin; granddaughter, Meg Watwood of Hewitt; and five great grandchildren.
