Dr. Scott P. Keahey

Dr. Scott P. Keahey , 83, passed away May 6, 2009 in Post, Texas.
Memorial service with Military Honors will be 2 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating.
Dr. Keahey was born in Madison, WI., and served in the Navy during WWII.
He was a member of the underwater demolition group that is now the Navy Seals. He fought at Imo Jima, Taipan, and Guam. He was in a platoon of 32 men, and he was the only one who returned home. He will be buried at sea by the Navy.
He became a psychologist and was dedicated to helping veterans for the remainder of his career.
He served at Waco Veterans Administration Hospital for approximately 30 years until he retired from the federal government in 1989. Afterwards, he worked for the state at the Skyview Psychiatric Hospital in Rust until 1994. He married the former Carolyn Massingill on January 31, 1990.
He greatly loved his family, was a great orator, and an eternal adventurer.
He is survived by his: wife, Carolyn; daughters, Laura Ross of Sheridan, Wy., Kimberly Barron of Waco, Karen Ellis of Hutto, Heather Bledsoe of Montrose, Co., Alice Berry of Denver, Co., and Mona Massingill of Dallas; son, Keith Massingill of Wilson; 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
