Sharon Elaine Barker, 56, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at her son's home in South Carolina surrounded by her family and close friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. John Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.



Sharon was born June 26, 1952 in Kerrville, Texas to Ben W. Orsack, Jr. and Martha Alene Cooper Orsack. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She began a career in law enforcement with the Texas Department of Public Safety Narcotics Service in 1975. In 1990, she went to work for the United States Attorney's Office in Waco. After her employment at the US Attorney's Office, Sharon worked with the United States Secret Service as the Office Manager until her retirement in 2007.



She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Benjamin Richard Orsack.



Sharon is survived by her son, Michael Gene Barker and wife, Hope Ann Barker of South Carolina; granddaughter, Julia Rose Barker; grandson, Benjamin Michael Barker; her mother, sister, B.J. Orsack of Katy, Texas; best friend, Sharon Lane of Waco; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
