Sharon Mira Wilhite McElvany, 61 of Waco passed away on Monday January 8, 2007 at a local hospital. Services will be 2pm Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8pm Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Sharon was born on November 2, 1945 in Gorman to Travis John and Ira (Coan) Cogburn. She was united in marriage to Alvis Randal Wilhite, whom preceded her in death. She later married Lee McElvany. Her brother Dale Cogburn preceded her in death also. Sharon had been employed at MHMR for the last eleven years, she had been with TSTC before that.
Sharon is survived by her husband Lee of Waco; daughter, Lesley Gail Farley and husband John of Axtell; granddaughter, Haley Olivia Farley of Axtell; grandson, John Farley II; father, Travis Cogburn and wife Kathrine of Navarro Mills Lake; mother, Ira C.C. Mayo of Waco; children, Dot and Butch Walker, Randy Wilhite and wife Tommie, Wayne and JoAnn Wilhite, Darrell and Linda Wilhite, Robert and Paulette Wilhite, Melissa Wilhite and Karen, Gaylona and Glenn Yerger; step-sisters, Sharan Mandel and Charlotte Callaway; sister-in-law, Pat White, Nieces, Jamie Veselka and Julie Cogburn; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
