Sherry Lee Compton 59,of Lorena, wife of Eddie Compton, passed away passed away Saturday, February 18,2012. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 24,2012 at First Evangelical Church 6347 S. Interstate 35. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Spring Creek Cemetery near Meridian Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday, February 23 at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque

Sherry was born December 23,1952 in Waco, Texas.

Sherry worked at Lorena ISD in the middle school special education department.

Her activities included: her grandchildren, Steel Magnolias Garden Club of Lorena, Community Action League of Lorena,Co-Founder and coordinator of the green classroom of Lorena, gardening and composting, working with children. God blessed Sherry with a heart of gold . She helped those in need and put others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her father Jack Maxwell.

Sherry is survived by her husband Eddie, her daughter Melanie Belcher and her husband Blake ,son Lance Compton and wife Alysia , mother Jennie Maxwell, two sisters Rita Padgett and husband Denny, and Marilyn Walker grandchildren Jaylynn Elfar, Lando, Ellie and Allie Belcher.

She was looking forward to the arrival of a new grand child in August. She is also survived by numerous nieces,nephews and extended family and friends.
