Shirley Girard

Shirley Ann Girard, 71, of Waco passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006 at a local hospital.

Rosary will be recited at 10 am on Monday followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15am at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours with Msgr. Isadore Rozycki officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gholson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm on Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Shirley was born on March 11, 1935 in Bosqueville to James and Grace (LaFerney) Maddox.

She married Robert on June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead. She was involved in various school organizations and St. Mary's Women's Guild.

Shirley had been a secretary at the Waco Cardiology Center, then with the Waco ISD. Shirley was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Afton Walker.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert of Waco; son, Chris Girard and wife Marcia of Pottsboro; daughter, Amy Kunze and husband Jeff of Lorena; grandchildren, Jesscia Girard, Ashley Girard and Macy Kunze; sister, Ruth Balega and husband Jack of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and Billie Moore of Fort Worth; brother, James Maddox of Waco; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brian Littleton, Mike Delgado, Paul Balega, Ron Moody, Rick Culver, Bobby Jimenez and Honorary Pallbearer Lynn Walker.

Shirley was the love of Roberts life, she was a cherished wife, her children were her best friends, her grandchildren were the love of her life and through them her memory will live on for generations to come.

Special thanks to her dear friends, Ann ,Glenda, Mary Ann and Vicki for all their love, support and help though out Shirley's special life.

Many thanks to every one for the thoughts and prayers during this time.
