Silas Stanford

Silas Jefferson "Jeff" Stanford, 73, of Waco, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Lake Shore Village Nursing Center.

Military graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at the China Spring Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.

Mr. Stanford was born on March 13, 1933 in Ocee to Dolph and Faye (Naylor) Stanford. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. After returning home from Korea he held jobs in both Waco and Dallas as a machinist.

In later years he enjoyed shooting pool, playing dominoes and watching TV. His parents, three brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Stanford of Waco and Jimmy Stanford of Fort Worth; four sisters, Ruth Necker of Brenham, Aileen Lumpkin of China Spring, Wilda Hurst of Waco, and Jeanette Bone of Hillsboro, and a sister-in-law, Mildred Stanford of Waco and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospice or the hospice of your choice.
