Simon Moses Sandoval, 74, of Waco, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
The family will receive visitors from 5 pm to 7 pm, with the Rosary to follow at 7 pm, recited by Mr. Ricky Alderete, on Friday, March 8, 2019 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas 76710. A memorial service will be held at Western Heights Baptist Church at 11 am on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
Simon was born in Waco, Texas, on March 6, 1944 to Cruz and Juanita (Rodriguez) Sandoval. He loved to fish and be outdoors. Simon was a Life Member of North American Fishing Club, and a Life Member of Handy Man.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents; children, Domingo, Jr., and Liza Gonzales; brother and sisters; Reyes, Susan, Lucy, Connie, and Janie.
Simon is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary L. (McDonald) ; children, Mary Jo Golan and husband Frank (Poncho), Rachael Tarango and Jose, and Billy Tarango and wife Marie; step-children, Tabatha Brooks and husband Jeff, Michael McDonald, Roger McDonald and Jacqueline, and William McDonald and wife Carla. Twenty-four grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and one on the way. Also surviving Simon are his sister Margaret and husband Ambrosio, and brothers, Rufus, Frank and Jimmy; along with many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial in Simon’s name may do so to Western Heights Baptist Church.
