Stephen was born on January 14, 1963, in Marlin, TX to Linda Bond. He was the last baby born at Torbett-Hutchison Hospital. His family moved to Waco in 1968. He attended special education at Kirk Wilson and graduated from Dripping Springs. He enjoyed boating, swimming, traveling, going out to eat, and most of all his radio. You rarely saw him without his radio playing good ole country music. He never met a stranger and was always smiling and wanted those around him to smile too. He eventually went to live at Mexia State Supported Living Center when he was 22 where he enjoyed activities, such as going to class, going on excursions to town, even the occasional train ride. He really enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns and TV Land. He loved the pets he had over the years, most recently his dog
Gabby. Stephen lived well beyond the years that the doctors expected him to at birth and he enjoyed each moment he was with us.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Bond; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Roberson; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Bond.
Stephen is survived by his devoted mother, Linda Bond of Waco; sister, Tammy Bond of Leander; cousins Gary Straka, Deborah Bond, Alan Bond and his wife Juliette, and Connie Burt, along with a host of other cousins and extended family and many friends.
The family extends thanks to the staff, doctors, and nurses at Mexia State Supported Living Center and special thanks for the care and compassion to the doctors and nurses in ICU at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Memorials may be made to Mexia State Supported Living Center through the Volunteer Association at P. O. Box 1132, Mexia, TX 76667.
