It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Andrew Becerra, a beloved son, father, and brother who left this world on 12/30/2024 at age 26. He was surrounded by love and family during his final moments. His kind heart and warm spirit will forever be remembered.
Steven was born on August 8, 1998 in Waco, TX and was the cherished son of Steven Robert Becerra and Priscilla Ann Cadena. From a young age he displayed a passion for army action figures, playing with toy guns, and digging in the dirt searching for rocks and treasures. He also liked Spider-man and playing with toy cars. Growing up, he was Grandma Mary’s right hand in assisting her with multiple tasks and was never known to question or say No to her. His nickname was “Stevie Pickles” based on the character “Tommy Pickles”. As an adult, he found joy in hanging out with family, collecting guns, and attending the gun range often. He had the ability to brighten any room he entered, always making others smile with his warm and funny generous sense of humor. He attended Waco schools and was employed at AAFES Exchange.
He is survived by his father, Steven R. Becerra and wife, Nellie; mother, Priscilla A. Cornelius and husband, James; sisters, Priscilla Garcia, Makayla Roliard, and Cameron Becerra; brothers, Isaiah Cornelius, Patrick Becerra, Estevan Becerra, and Abel Becerra; paternal grandmother, Mary Luevano; maternal grandparents, George Cadena and wife, Sylvia; as well as many extended aunts and uncles. His memory will be carried forward by his sons, Stevie and Anthony Becerra along with their mother, Melissa Lozano. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Patrick A. Becerra; great-grandmother, Olivia D. Romero; uncle, Robert A. Juarez; and cousin, Robert A Juarez, III.
Our hearts are broken but we take comfort knowing that Steven’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in each of us. He will always be cherished, never forgotten and forever missed.
Serving as Pallbearers are Estevan Becerra, Isaiah Cornelius, Abel Becerra, Chris Cadena, Jonathan Lee Moran, Jr., Brandon Pleasant, Noah Juarez, and Gavin King.
