Susan Jane Sudduth LaFountain, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend entered the kingdom of the Lord on the morning of May 12, 2024. She was born to Walter and Betty Sudduth on May 1,1948. She grew up in Lott, Texas with her sister Cynthia and brother Walter and later had a half-brother Hailey. She was a baton twirler and barrel racer. Susan loved her horse Mischief. She married James LaFountain at a young age and quickly became a mother to three children, Sherry, James Jr. and Shelia. She was a full-time mother until she and a neighbor started working with special needs children at Robinson Elementary, she later worked at Region 12 Service center, and later at the TDCJ center in Marlin. Susan was a loving person and would give anything she had to someone that needed it. She loved Facebook, throwing darts, bridge and visiting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Walter Sudduth; brother, Walter Sudduth Jr.; and nephews, Cap Jake Sudduth and Chip Sudduth.
She is survived by her sister, Cynthia and husband, Monty Montgmery; half-brother, Hailey Sudduth; and her loving children and their spouses: Sherry and Richard Lopez, James and Maria LaFountain, Jr., and Shelia and Marvin Beechly. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Richard and Lupita Lopez, Robert and Jeannette Lopez, Brandon LaFountain and Melanie Dingman, Rachel LaFountain and Bailey Kurtz, Valerie and Chris Martinez, David and Cheyene Brittain, Brandon and Lauren Beechly, and Kellianne and Parker Jons. Lastly, she is survived by her great grandchildren: Leah and Lael Lopez, Anthony and Robert Lopez, Jr., Regan and Lincoln Beechly, Breken Jons, Colt Brittain, Jaymeson and Kaidyn Vargas.
The family would like to thank all the people she played bridge with weekly. Your phone calls and visits during these last few months were so special to her.
