Sylvia Gabriel Copeland, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, December 31, 2012. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Sylvia was born April 12, 1917 and was married to Barney Copeland. Together they owned and operated the Interurban Cafe and later, Barney's Cafe. After Barney's passing, she sold the cafe and went to work for the Veteran's Administration Hospital of Waco, retiring in 1979. Never satisfied with being idle, Sylvia began another career with the Waco Public Library in 1980. She retired from the library in 2002.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Studenko of Waco and Pam Dolezal and her husband, Alan of Lake Limestone; grandchildren, Stacey Horne-Morales and her husband, Carlos of Seattle, Julee New and her husband, Jason of Wylie, I. Scott Studenko of Dallas and Cynthia Forrest and her husband, Lee of Houston. In addition, she is survived by five great grandchildren.
Sylvia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
