Sylvia Tobias

Sylvia Martinez Tobias, age 71, formerly of Marlin, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Sylvia Martinez Tobias was born November 16, 1952, to Eulalia B. Rosas and Lupe O. Martinez in Marlin, TX. Sylvia was the eldest of her four siblings. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She loved her family and always put her girls first. Sylvia always attended her girls and grandchildren’s activities. She was a big support in their lives. Sylvia loved celebrating the holidays, you could always catch her in the kitchen cooking and baking treats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lupe & Eulalia Martinez; sister, Gladys Downes; and two grandsons, A’marion & Jayden.

She is survived by her daughters, Salina Martinez & Lorie Tobias of Waco, TX; grandchildren, Alexis, Andres, Isaac, Amia, Navaya, An’Tonio, Serenity, Samoni, Kaleeya, Mason and A’mariona all of Waco; great grandchildren, Kyrin and Kaycn of Waco; brothers, Isaac (Diana) Martinez & Robert (Maribel) Martinez of Waco; niece and nephews, Marcus Downes of Marlin, Robert Martinez, Abraham Martinez of Waco, and Anabel Perez of Billing, MT; and ex-husband, Mike Tobias of Waco.
