Teddy F. Fields, Jr.

Mr. Teddy F. Fields, Jr., 83, of Houston, passed away in Houston on Sunday, April 5, 2009. He will be buried next to his parents in Rosemound Cemetery, Waco, Texas.
Born on December 7, 1926, Teddy was a native of Waco. He entered the U.S. Navy for a year, then returned to Waco for a short time before moving to Houston. There, he worked for Red Arrow Freight Lines until he retired about 15 years ago. He loved to fish and bar-b-que, and enjoyed being around his family.
Survivors include wife, Marilyn; children, Ricky, Dana, Donald and Jeannie; sister, Doris Rodriguez and husband, Tony, of Waco; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and also by his grandparents, J.C. and Mary Alice Fields, who helped to raise him here in Waco. His grandfather, who came to Waco from England, operated a very successful tailor's shop in Waco adn was one of the city's leading citizens. His picture still hangs in the foyer of the Austin Avenue United Methodist Church.
The funeral service was at 12 noon Thursday, April 9, at the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston. Interment will be Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.
