Claudia Ernestine Deiterman (Tena), of Waco, beloved Mother and wife, joined her husband of 52 years. He passed on November 8, 2020. She passed four days later on November 12, 2020. She entered this world on February 4, 1945, born to William (Ernest) Bruner and Aline Bruner (Jordan).
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Deiterman of Austin, Texas, William and Laura Deiterman of Garland, Texas, and Alan Deiterman of Temple, Texas. Sisters, Karen Erck of Waco, Texas and Vivian Helm of Waco, Texas, and 4 grandchildren.
Tena will long be remembered for her 50+ year career as a beautician who styled hair in Waco and Temple, Texas at Head Shapers. The only thing bigger than her heart was her love of entertaining people. She loved old people, little children, and the holidays. She had a fun loving nature and would dress up as characters such as a bag lady, fairy godmother, or Easter bunny to visit nursing homes.
Tena would also surprise her friends and family in these costumes at their place of business to wish them Happy Birthday or to just brighten their day. She especially loved Easter and Halloween. At Easter she would dress up as a giant rabbit and visit egg hunts to bring joy to the children. At Halloween she would decorate and dress up as a witch to visit people. She was known for the popcorn balls she made, everyone looked forward to those.
Tena had a generous spirit, sharing what she had with those in need and often bought books at Sam's for little children.
