Terence Smith

Terence "Terry" Franklin Smith, 69, of Waco, died February 21, 2008 in Waco. Funeral services will be Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Jimmie Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Terry was born in Waco on June 29, 1938 to Franklin Smith and Doris Durham Smith. He was a graduate of the Waco High School class of 1956. Terry attended Texas Tech University and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1960. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He returned to Waco and began a career with American Amicable Life Insurance Company. Terry later went to work for Commercial Computer Service and served as Manager of the company.

Terry was a past president of Hedonia and a member of Ridgewood Country Club.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Martha Ellen.

He is survived by two sons, Todd Smith of Pasadena and Scot Smith and wife, Dawne of Friendswood; daughter, Teri Smith Walker and husband, Morgan of Palestine; a brother, Alan Smith of London, England; grandchildren, Megan Nicole Smith, Kori Ann Smith, Molly Elizabeth Smith, Andrew Scott Walker and Logan Todd Walker; two nephews, David Webb of Colorado and Douglas Webb of California; one cousin, Robert Eikel of California. He is also survived by his special life long friend, Dick Clark of Waco.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to First Presbyterian Church of Waco.
