Teresa Shirlene Tynes Gibbs "Mama", 56, of Waco, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 1, 2009 at her residence after a battle with cancer.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Bob Cox officiating.
Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Teresa was born August 23, 1952 in Waco to William Lewis Tynes and Shirley Jean Yarbrough Tynes.
She was the owner of Teresa Gibbs Trucking. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Veterans Hospital and was a home health caregiver.
She enjoyed traveling and especially the ocean, but her main joy in life was her grandchildren. Teresa was very poetic, fun loving and crafty. Through her strong faith, she witnessed many souls to Christ. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Teresa is survived by her sons, Scott Wayne Gibbs and wife, Cherie, and Jay Gibbs and wife, Heather White Gibbs; daughter, Heather Gibbs and her partner in life, Patricia Lyon; brother, Ronald Lewis Tynes and wife, Linda; sister, Sarah Tyroch; grandchildren, Josh, Alaina, Amber, Justin, Chase, Haley, Madison, Caitlin and Keeley; children by choice, Stacy Millsap, Donnie Wake and Keith Shilling; step-father, Revis Hester; several nieces and nephews; and the love of her life, Ray Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Keith Shilling, Randy Owens, Terry Tyroch, David Owens, D.J. Wake, and T.W. Tyroch.
