TERRY WOOTEN

Robert Terral "Terry" Wooten, 60, of Dallas, completed his earthly life Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the home of his sister in China Spring following a courageous battle with metastasized melanoma, entering into eternal life with his Heavenly Father.
A graveside service for his loving family will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud, Texas. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service and celebration of Terry's life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas, the Rev. Mike Copeland officiating, with the eulogy given by Terry's lifelong friend, Patrick Dunne of Houston. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home.
Born February 15, 1951 in Waco to Nat S. and Estelle Cox Wooten, Terry graduated from University High School in 1969 and subsequently attended McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical Institute. In 1982 Terry moved to Dallas, where he enjoyed a career in technical writing and graphic arts. Terry always attributed his success to the many friends and co-workers who recognized his considerable talent and encouraged him to pursue his dreams.
At the time of his death Terry was Documentation Specialist for the Care Management Integration Team at Baylor Health Care Systems in Dallas.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Nat Wooten, and his brother-in-law Earl Anderson, Jr.
Terry is survived by his mother, Estelle Wooten, and his sister Sue Anderson of China Spring; his nephew Brian Anderson and wife Andrea of China Spring; nephew Kevin Anderson and wife Sheila of Ft. Worth; great-niece Ashli Anderson and fiancé Kyle Kubista of Lubbock; great-niece Jennifer Anderson of Stephenville; great-nephew Cody Anderson of Ft. Worth; cousin and "second sister" Debbie Thrasher of Ft. Worth; uncle Charles Cox and wife Rita of Austin, a host of cousins, many professional co-workers, special acquaintances, and beloved friends.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Providence Hospice Staff for their compassionate and loving care; and Jamie Perez of Visiting Angels, a truly Precious Gift from God who went above and beyond the call of duty in caring for Terry and our family.
