Thelma Abbott, 64, passed away on November 6, 2023, in Waco, TX. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She will be laid to rest on November 14th at the Billington Cemetery in Axtell, TX at 10 AM. There will be a celebration of life afterwards.
Thelma was born on October 20, 1959. She was the oldest of six children. She leaves behind her four children, Daylene, Shauna, Jessica, and Josh. She was blessed with ten grandchildren who she loved so very much and bragged about every day. Thelma traveled a great deal in her life. She was born in Missouri, moved to Colorado, raised a family in Illinois, and then retired in Texas. She was diagnosed with cancer seven years ago. She fought her cancer every bit of the way to try to spend just one more day with her family.
Thelma had the biggest heart and sweetest soul. She would give the shirt off her back if it meant that someone could have a better day. She often put off her own needs to take care of others. Thelma loved children, and she was so very proud of each of her kids and grandkids. She always said her biggest regret in finding out she had cancer was that she would not get to be around to help them in the future. She always worried who would be there for them in the future. She took great pride spending her last months in life planting flowers all around to out live her. She hoped they would be around after she passed, to remind us that what we do in this life will carry on long after we are gone. All she wanted in life was to leave a small bit of good behind. She always hoped her kids would know how grateful she was for getting to spend the last years of her life in peace out in the country and the support she got from them.
