Theresa Quiram Dum

Theresa Quiram Akard Dum passed away at her home on June 16, 2011. Services will be
10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the sanctuary of OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. James Menke officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
Theresa was born the 5th child of eight children to Helmut G. Quiram, Sr. and Thusnelda
Neugebauer Quiram in Waco, Texas, on December 4, 1925 and remained a life-long resident of Waco. She graduated from Waco High School and immediately went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the Traffic Division as a service operator. Theresa retired on July 20, 1980 as Supervisor Business Services (Operations) with 37 years of service, 32 of which she was Assistant Chief Operator of the Waco Traffic Division prior to the company's decision to move that part of their operations to Fort Worth, Texas.
On November 1, 1947, Theresa married Guy Akard, who passed away in 1970. She later
married John H. Dum on February 14, 1975, who died in 1984.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sisters, Caroline Quiram,
Anna Fitch and husband Don Fitch, and Sophie Crowley and husband Vince Crowley, sister-
in-law, Jeanne Quiram; brother-in-law, Charles F. Wells, Jr., and nephew, Karl Quiram.
She is survived by brothers, Helmut G. Quiram, Jr. of Littleton, Colorado, and Leonard L.
Quiram and wife Barbara of College Station; sisters, Ruby Wells and Helen Quiram, both of
Waco, and many nieces, nephews and faithful friends.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the health care providers
who gave such compassionate and loving care to Theresa during the last four months.
