Thomas Cruz

Thomas Cruz, Sr., 51, passed away, Thursday, January 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church, with Rev. Ricardo Mejia as Celebrant. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, with the Rosary at 7 at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Thomas (Tommy) was born March 7, 1965 in Temple, Texas to Guadalupe and Carmen (Mansolo) Cruz. He attended Waco High School and received his G.E.D. He was certified as a horticulturist and small engine mechanic; his passion was in the construction industry. He became a brick layer and worked for Adolph Salinas Masonry for 30 plus years. He was a good son, husband, father, and grandfather. Tommy loved music, dancing and football. He wore a smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand to any one in need.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Luz and Concepcion Cruz and Carmen and Jose Mansolo.
He is survived by his mother, Carmen M. Cruz; children, Augustine T. Cruz and Julia Armendariz, Crystal V. Cruz and Jose Bernal II, Micaela Shari Cruz and Thomas (TJ) Cruz, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; siblings, C.

Brian Cruz and wife, Kay, Felicia Cruz-Salazar and husband, Daniel, Candice L. Ortiz and husband, J. Adam, Pablo C. Cruz, and Pedro G. Cruz and wife, Monique, and loving companion, Priscilla Salinas. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
