Services for Thomas L. Keelen, Jr., 81, will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Seventh & James Baptist Church, Waco, with Dr. Raymond Bailey conducting. Mr. Keelen died Monday after a long illness.
He was research director for Shell Oil Co., retiring in 1979. A Navy veteran, he also designed software and was a Houston Astros fan.
He was born in Mansfield, LA. His parents were Olive and Thomas Keelen. He grew up in Corpus Christi, attending Rice University before graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Ph.D. in physical chemistry.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha, daughter Nancy and her husband Paul Lewis of Austin, son dean Eubank of Arlington, and grandchildren Amber and Jessica Lewis of Austin, and Robyn and Ellen Eubank of Richardson.
Visiting hours will be 5-7 PM Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home. The family is foregoing a burial service.
