Thomas Christopher Kimbro, Jr., 88, of Eddy, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Scott & White Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to the funeral service.

Tom was born December 30, 1924 in Heavener, Oklahoma and graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa.

He proudly served at sea with the US Navy from 1943 to 1945. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2148, American Legion Post 121 among other posts in California. Tom retired from public service from the City of Riverside, California in 1986 after 25 years of service in the Water Department. He owned and operated several businesses after his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Christopher Kimbro, Sr.; his mother, Frances Z. Spomer Kimbro; his first wife, Lois D. Kimbro; and his second wife, Elma L. Kimbro.

Tom is survived by his daughters, K. Irene Sturgill of Waco and Jenifer Kimbro; his sister, Doris Railsback of California; step daughter, Shirley Case of Bruceville; grandchildren, Leslie Davis of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Christin Johnson and Darren of Goodyear, Arizona, James A. M. Sturgill and wife, Alexandra of Midwest City, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, LeAnn Billen and husband, Casey of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Renae Davis of Harrah, Oklahoma, Colmynn and Collin Johnson of Goodyear, Arizona; and great grandchildren, Anastatia and Cameron Billen of Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorials in memory of Tom be directed to Meals on Wheels or Scott & White Medical Center.
