Thomas Louis Yezzi died Tuesday, June, 21, 2011 at Scott & White hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 24 at Meier Settlement UMC with Jerry Arthur officiating. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Tom was born December 19, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas J. and Annie C. Yezzi. Tom had many talents and worked at many different jobs throughout his life. He became a pastor at the age of 34 and he preached the word of God at numerous churches in the area. Tom was a singer and sang to each of his girls when he gave them to their husbands at the altar. He also made each of their wedding cakes and assisted with all the intricate details of their weddings. He was a wonderful cook and passed this along to his girls. The holidays will never be the same without his delicious meals.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James J Yezzi; and his son-in-law, Christopher Kazda.
Tom is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Yezzi; daughters, Vicki Shaw and her husband Gary, Lisa Ward and husband, Todd, Lynda Valentine, Teri Gorgas and husband, Mike, Kris Uptmor and husband, Brian, Kathleen Kazda and fiancé, Pat Cammack, and Shawna Yezzi and partner, Eric King; sisters, JoAnn Yezzi and partner, Jimmy Crook and Diane Gambrel and husband, Danny; eighteen grandchildren with one on the way; five great-grandchildren with two on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Steve Glockzin, Don Searight, Ronnie Dowdle, James Doughty, Creston Voges, and Steve Nehring. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom's sons-in-laws, grandsons and Harold Federwisch.
The Family would like to say a special Thank you to Dr. Abernathy, Dr. M Davis, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Stagg, Dr. Ogden and to nurses Bobby, Krysta, Lauren and Sheri. You all did a wonderful job.
