Timothy Hunt, 56, of China Spring, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 9 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Tim was born January 13, 1953 in Waco. He graduated from Waco High School in 1970. In his younger years, he raced dirt bikes. Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing softball. He would fish and hunt year round. He was always giving, caring and compassionate to his fellow man. Tim never met a stranger.
He loved his family, especially his children. Tim's grandchildren were the love of his life and brought him absolute joy. He would often take them camping, fishing and hunting for days at a time all by himself. He was their Papa.
Tim always worked hard since he was seventeen years old. He worked for the MKT Railroad for over 15 years while also working nights at the Waco News Tribune for 10 years as a Journalman mailer in the mailroom. Tim currently owned and operated Hunt's Tree and Lawn Service here in Waco for the past 35 years.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Ray Hunt and Sue Stovall Tate Hunt; and his mother-in-law, Alma Louise Curre.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Joyce Hunt. They were high school sweethearts and married at the age of 17. He is also survived by his sons, Steve Douglas Hunt and wife, Kim and Timothy Orren Hunt, Jr. and wife, Lori; his daughter, Tereasa Louise Duncan and husband, Vince; 7 grandchildren, Eric Douglas Hunt, Robert Allen Walton, Rodney Alan Stephens, Jeremy James Duncan, Ashley Michell Duncan, Alma Isabella Hunt and Jessie James Hunt; brothers, Jimmy Hunt and wife, Lisa and Steve Hunt; sisters, Sharon Hunt and Carolyn Hunt; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; 2 great great nephews; and his sister-in-law, Linda Lee and husband, Edward. All his family members reside in Waco.
