Tom McPeak, age 65, died suddenly from a stroke at Providence Hospital on Saturday.

A memorial service will be held for Tom McPeak at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 5801 Bishop Drive, Waco, TX 76710.

The Rev. Dorisanne Cooper, pastor, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.

He was born in Pampa, Texas on January 27, 1943 and has resided in Lorena, Texas for the last 12 years. Tom grew up in Pampa, Texas and graduated from Pampa High School in 1961. He then attended Baylor University on a voice scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in May of 1965. He married his college sweetheart, Pam Bradshaw, on July 31, 1965.

Tom worked with Cravens Dargan Insurance Company in Houston until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He served in the Army at Ft. Bliss in El Paso until 1968 then went to work with Atlas / Lehigh Cement Company.

Tom also owned a wholesale jewelry business, worked at the ASAP Medical Clinic, and for the last 17 years has owned and operated Little Peoples Learning Center with his wife, Pam .

Tom immensely enjoyed the outdoors, Lake Waco in a boat, riding motorcycles and traveling in his jeep. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach in Port Aransas with his family. Tom was a member of the of the Fast Break Club for many years and followed Baylor Basketball from the Coliseum to the Ferrell Center.

He enjoyed a bit of farming and raising Longhorn cattle for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Waco and he delivered Meals on Wheels every Monday for his church.

Tom is survived by his wife, Pam Bradshaw McPeak; his son, Brady McPeak and fiance, Leann, son Corey McPeak; grandchildren, Will and Casey McPeak, Weston, Justice and Carter Henley, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Albert Houston "Casey" McPeak, and Evelyn Wakefield McPeak, his brother Jack McPeak and his sister, MaryAnn Sparks.
