Tomasa Gutierrez, 92, of Waco died Saturday morning April 12, 2003 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 am Monday at the Bible Way Church at 2800 Gurley Avenue with Rev. Eugenio Garcia officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 9:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm at the OakCrest Funeral Home at 4520 Bosque Blvd. The children?s playroom will be open during visitation.
Mrs. Gutierrez was born on March 7, 1911 in San Luis, Potise, Mexico, to Eufemio and Marciana (Palomo) Ortega. She married Guadalupe Gutierrez in 1928 and they celebrated 58 years together before his death in 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez were the founders of Tabernacle de la Fe Pentecoste in 1964.
Mrs. Gutierrez was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Gutierrez and two daughters Tommie Rodriguez and Lucy Garcia.
She is survived by her children, Moses Gutierrez, Uvaldo Gutierrez, Pete Gutierrez, Mary Resendez, Victoria Resendez and Marci Lopez all of Waco; 40 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
