Tommie Evelyn Blount, 96, left her earthly body, Monday, May 11, 2009 to join her family who passed before her.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with the Rev. Howell Farnsworth officiating.

Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park

Mrs. Blount was born May 1, 1913, in Frosa, Texas to Tom and Eva Woffard. She married Olan Mayse Blount in 1934. She and her family moved to Waco in1953.

Mrs. Blount was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and her greatest joy was in giving of herself to others, and being a blessing to any who needed her help.

She was a dedicated servant of our Lord, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enriched the lives of her family and all those around her.

She will be missed more than words can express and will be remembered always.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Olan; oldest son, Bill; and grandson, Greg.

She is survived by her: son, Don Blount, and his wife, Kyle; a grandson, Olan; and a granddaughter, Debra Blount.
