Tommy Lavelle Cargill, 71, of Waco, joined the Lord Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Plemons, Rev. Charles Henry, and Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating. Immediately following the memorial service, the family will gather for a private graveside service. Everyone is welcome to join at 4:00 P.M. at the Cargill residence for food and fellowship.
Tommy was born October 4, 1939 in Waco to Ruby Modelle Cox and Clarence E. Cargill. He attended University High School, owned and operated Gene's Tree Service for many years before TLC Auto Sales. Tommy was a member of Speegleville Christian Center. Tommy loved life, his wife, coffee, old cars, his family and friends, and most of all he loved the Lord.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Virginia; brother, Bert Cargill and wife, Pat; children, JaLynda Plemons and husband, Preston, Rick Cargill, and Shannon Morris; grandchildren, Corey Plemons, Carey Plemons and wife, Angel, Amber Hudson Hammer and husband, Robert, Renee Mevis, Tara Banas and husband, Devyn, and Kristen Griffen; great-grandchildren, Russell Hammer, Caleb Stier, and Connor Banas; and many, many more family and friends.
