Travis Daniel (Dan) Watts, 75, passed away on January 6 at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Dan was born on July 23, 1942, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Tony and Iva Joe Watts, but he grew up in San Angelo. He married his wife, Dina, in Este, Italy, where they met while he was working as a land surveyor for oil. He was an adventurer and traveled all over the world while leading a seismograph crew. Later, he worked the family farm and ranch near Voca, TX, before moving to Waco where he earned his A&P license. He worked as an airplane mechanic for 22 years before retiring. Dan enjoyed restoring cars, planes, motorcycles, and boats. He also loved go-karting and other activities with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Iva Joe Watts, father, Travis William (Tony) Watts, half-brother, Harold Johnson, sister, Gayle Snodgrass, and great-aunt, Daphine Watts-Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Dina Chiaromonte Watts of Waco; daughter, Daniela Weaver, son-in-law, Tim Weaver, grandchildren, Grace and Joseph Weaver, of College Station; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm in Waco, TX, at Oakcrest Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 12th, at 11:30am at College Station Cemetery in College Station, TX. Dan will be greatly missed.
