Twila Fern Ferguson, 87, of Waco, passed away on April 9, 2025 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waco after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 14. 2025 at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Randy Geurin officiating.
Twila was born on December 29, 1937 in Waco, Texas to J.H. and Lillie Mae McCleskey. She graduated from University High School in 1955. Twila worked at Jack and Jill Donuts for many years until she became a grandmother. Twila then spent her time as a homemaker and caretaker for her grandchildren.
On September 23, 1955 she married the love of her life, Fred Thomas Ferguson, Jr. Together they raised 3 children and were happily married until his passing in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Lillie Mae McCleskey; brother, Pat McCleskey; husband, Fred Ferguson; and son-in-law, Michael Tusa.
Survivors include her beloved daughters, Patty Ferguson, Rebecca Tusa, and Melissa Ray; grandchildren, Angel (Tusa) Beals, Frank Tusa, Fred Tusa, Kyrstyn Ray, Jesse Ray, Savannah Ray, and April Ray; and great grandchildren, Kaydence and Landry Beals.
Honorary pallbearers will be Angel (Tusa) Beals, Frank Tusa, Fred Tusa, Jose Arrollo, Kaydence Beals, and Landry Beals.
Twila was a beloved wife, mother, and Nanny. She was known for her stubborn attitude, strong will, and extreme independence. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially her family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff with Baylor Scott and White Hospice Care for their hospitality and delicate care of Twila during her time with them.
