Valdemar G. De Leon, 72, of Waco, passed away on April, 25, 2016 at a local hospital. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 am Thursday, April, 28. 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 27, and Rosary Service will be at 7 pm, at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Mr. De Leon was born March 27, 1944, in Cadereyta Jimenez, N. L., Mexico, to Gregorio and Salome (Garcia) De Leon. In his late 20’s he came to the United States, and became a citizen and spent the last 44 years in the US. He met and married the love of his life, Maria de Jesus Figueroa in Mexico. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, was well known in the community and always willing to help others.
Don Valdemar was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Homero De Leon and sister, Graciela De Leon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, dona Maria de Jesus De Leon; sons, Sergio De Leon and wife Irma, and Ruben De Leon and wife Graciela, all of Dallas, Texas; Enrique Alejandro De Leon and wife Nieves, Baldemar De Leon and wife Delia and Adrian De Leon and wife Becky; daughters, Chayito Hidalgo and husband David, Yolanda Perez and husband Jorge, Veronica Aleman and husband Guadalupe all of Waco, Texas; 29 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Gregorio De Leon and Guilibaldo De Leon.
