VERNON MORGAN
JULY 30, 1918-JUNE 2, 2007
Vernon Lee Morgan, 88, passed away Saturday morning, June 2, 2007 at his home in Waco.
Visitation will be Sunday the 3rd of June from 6 to 8 p.m. at the OakCrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Chaplain Ron Hill officiating.
Vernon was born in Speegleville on July 30, 1918, the son of John Thomas Morgan and Lula Cornelious Morgan. He married Mary Elizabeth Gaines on January 11, 1957 in Waco.
Vernon graduated from South Bosque High School. He was a member of the Speegleville Methodist Church.
He also was an active long time member of Members Choice Credit Union. Vernon retired from the electrician profession spending most of his years working at the VA Hospital in Waco.
He spent time as the Leader of Boy Scout Troop #332. Vernon was a WWII veteran serving with the 36th Division.
He was awarded a Purple Heart medal for injuries he received during the war.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Merle Morgan Wilkerson; and two brothers, Dennis Leo and John Thomas, Jr.
SURVIVORS
He is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, Russell and wife Sandra of Houston, Thomas from Waco, John David of Waco, and James and Kris from Waco; 5 grandchildren; a niece, Joyce (Wilkerson) Custer of Conroe; a nephew, Royce Wilkerson from Grapevine, and many friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon's grandchildren; Eric, Corey, Dalton, Lindsey, and Krista.
