The beautiful Vicky Aleman, entered this world January 22, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas as Vicenta Aguilar. The eldest of 6 siblings, she was a loyal and hard-working daughter.
In 1947 she married Julian Vargas and this union produced 3 children: Julian Jr., Juanita, and Linda. In 1974 she married Paul Aleman and became a grandmother. Grandma was famous for her cooking, hard work, gardening skills, and baking prowess. Everywhere she went, she knew someone: from her job at the elementary schools, from church, or through her vast social network. Her house was always home base, and her touch made every holiday special. A big glowing Christmas tree, trays of delicious cookies, tasty birthday cakes, fresh tortillas...everything she made was delicious. Grandma was the bedrock of the family, always there in our time of need. Words can't really express all the combined love we have for her.
She leaves behind her children, Julian Jr., Juanita, and Linda; grandchildren, Yvonne Huff, Denise Vargas, Jamileh Vargas, Steven Vargas, Julie Stricklin, Delia Enriquez, and Michael Nabi; siblings, Janie Garcia, Martin Aguilar, and Lupe Garcia; 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Jesus reunited her with her spouse, Paul; grandson, Chris Vargas; and granddaughter, Penny Vargas, on October 12th, 2023. May the angels sing over her until we see her again for one big family reunion.
