Vickye White

Vickye Jane Grisham White, 71, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024. Services will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with her nephew, Jarred Grisham officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 12 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Vickye was born November 17, 1952 in Waco to Odell and Imogene (Harrell) Grisham, and has lived in the Waco area all her life. She was married April 10, 1976 in Waco to Jesse White.

She graduated from Baylor University in 1975 with a Bachelor degree in Education. She dedicated 30 years to Southwestern Bell/AT&T. Vickye continued her professional career with ESC Region 12 until retirement in 2023. During this time, she was involved in the ABWA, SBC Pioneers, Adopt-a-School, and sat on the Board at First Central Credit Union. She held the position of president of the Lady Bear Basketball Tip-Off Club. She was passionate about Lady Bear Basketball and music. Vickye had a beautiful singing voice and was in the choir through high school, at Baylor, and church. She always had a smile on her face and had many life-long friends; and her friends quickly became family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; her parents; and her brother, Freddie Grisham.

She is survived by brothers, Walter Grisham and wife, Karla, and Robert (Buddy) Grisham and wife, Paula; beloved sister, Peggy Grisham; niece, Denise (Grisham) Vasquez and husband, Jason; nephews, Jarred Grisham and wife, Stacey, and Kris Grisham and wife, Jennifer; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
