Victororiano "Victor" Ortiz, 85, of Waco passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at a local hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1401 Washington with Father Irudayaraj Thomas as celebrant. Military graveside honors will follow in Rosemound Cemetery.

Visitation will start at 6 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. The Rosary will be recited at 7 pm by Father Thomas. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.

The Knights of Columbus will form an Honor Guard.

Victor was born on December 23, 1921 in Asa to Narcis and Gregoria (Carbajal) Ortiz. He was an active member of St. Mary's of Assumption Catholic Church where he served as Head Usher for many years, St. Mary's of Assumption Men's Club and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1358. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great- granddaughter, Gesselle Santos; three sisters, Ramona Herrera, Guillerma Juante and Nona Rodriguez; two brothers, Domingo and Seferino Ortiz.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Victor is survived by his wife of 62 years, Faye R. Ortiz; sons, Victoriano A. Ortiz, Domingo 'Steve' Ortiz and wife Kelly Sanders; four grandchildren, Michelle, Melissia, Justus S., and Ann Grace Ortiz; one great-grandchild, Jordan D. Ortiz; two brothers, Johnny Ortiz and wife Susie of Houston, Cruz Ortiz and wife Pasion of Houston, and sister-in-law, Eva Ortiz of Garland.

Pallbearers will be Johnny O. Rodriguez, Ricky Ortiz, Eric Reyes, Manuel Perez III, Eli Rosenberg and Mag DeLeon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the St. Mary's of the Assumption Men's Club.
