Viola Stewart

Viola Estelle (Whitehead) Stewart, 96 of Hico passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones at a Hico Care Center. Services will be 11am Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Rutledge Funeral Home in Hico under the direction of OakCrest Funeral Home with Welton Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday at Rutledge Funeral Home.

Viola was born on July 5, 1914 to Jess and Annie (Dunham) Whitehead in Dublin.

Viola was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was one of the most giving and caring people in the world. Viola treated everyone like they were her kids, everyone loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Wayne Stewart in 1991; and sons, J.B. Wilson and Raymond Lee Wilson.

Viola is survived by her daughter, Cecil Willora Whitehead; sons, Darrell Stewart and John Brooks and wife, Lori; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie Reigon and Rosie Penny, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Taylor, Rusty Longley, Jimmy Newman, Bill Whitehead, Calvin Payne and Larry Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Stewart, Jr., Tanner Wallace and Tanner Stewart.
