Virginia R. Rodriguez, 67, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014. Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Frances Catholic Church, 315 Jefferson Ave, with Deacon Jesse Garza officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, followed by a Rosary Service at 6 p.m.


Virginia Rivas Rodriguez was born December 9, 1946 in Marlin, TX to Robert and Isabel Hernandez. She was a graduate of Waco High and was a secretary in the health care industry for many years. Virginia enjoyed shopping and listening to Pitbull. She had a strong passion for prayers and helping others, never failing to say “Love ya.” Virginia was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister. She will forever be remembered for her infectious smile and heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Isabel Rivas; siblings, Isabel Sotomayor and Victor Porres.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Leopoldo Rodriguez; daughters, Frances Montellano and husband, Jose Luis, Mishell Rodriguez, Melisa Gallegos and husband, Jesus; grandchildren, Elijio Perez, Antonio Casas, Isabella Zambrano, Jose Montellano, Mila Rose Gallegos; great grandchild, Emily Perez; siblings, Tony Castillo, Clemencia Reyes, Robert Rivas and Lupe Rivas.
