Virginia (Jenny) Taylor, 87, of Waco, was born May 4, 1922 and joined her Heavenly Father Wednesday, January 27, 2010.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with the Rev. David Story officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Jenny married James (Jim) E. Taylor, Jr. in 1941. During WWII, Jenny worked at both Connally Air Force Base in Waco and Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, while Jim served his country as a paratrooper. Jim and Jenny returned to Waco where they both enjoyed careers. In 1956, their only child, Elaine, was born.

Jenny was an active member of Richfield Christian Church, where she loved singing the old Christian hymns. At home, she enjoyed playing her piano and organ. Jenny also loved a good day at the bridge table. Jenny volunteered tirelessly at both Providence and Hillcrest Hospitals.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Elaine Taylor Murphy; son-in-law, Pat Murphy; and grandsons, who she adored, Patrick and Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Faye Stieglitz of San Antonio and niece Kathy Stiles, husband Jim and son Dylan of Denton.
