Vivian Sherwood Byrum

Vivian Sherwood Byrum, 87, died September 5, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center from pneumonia and complications of dementia.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Sept 10, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation with his family will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mr. Byrum was born March 13, 1925 in Kosse to Ernest and Beulah Hadaway Byrum. Known as Sherwood to family, called “Slim” or “Joe” by friends, Mr. Byrum served in the US Army in Italy during WWII and worked at General Tire in Waco for 40 years. He was a long-time member of Lake Shore Church of Christ and a resident of Crestview Manor since 2004.
Mr. Byrum was preceded in death by his wife, Parrie Byrum; and sister, Ernestine Graff.
He is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Yarbrough and husband, Tom and Laura Kelly; stepdaughter, Serena Danene Guin; and four grandchildren, Aaron Yarbrough and wife, Jean, Paul Yarbrough, Meredith Yarbrough and Vincent Kelly. Mr. Byrum is also survived by two brothers, Harold Byrum of Irving and John Byrum of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.
