Wanda L. Rubel, 72, of Hewitt, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2006 in a Waco hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eddy Cemetery with Harry Harelik officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Wanda was born October 28, 1933 to Walter and Vergie Watkins. She married Joe I. Rubel on June 24, 1950 in Mooreville. She helped with the family business as co-owner of Rubel Industries until she retired. She especially enjoyed taking vacations in Las Vegas.
She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wesley, Jimmy and Hollis; and a sister, June.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe I. Rubel of Hewitt; son, Paul Rubel and wife, Donna of Hewitt; three daughters, Hanna Phillips and husband, Barry of Woodway, Suzanne Rubel of Austin, and Annette Roberts and husband, Mikki, of Hewitt; five grandchildren, Alyssa Morrow and husband, Eric of Dallas, Jarrod Harelik of Dallas, Joshua Harelik of Diamond Point, Ca., Ryan Roberts and finance', Shannon Dobelbower of Las Angeles, and Joe Andrew Rubel of Hewitt; three step-grandchildren, Lara Phillips of Austin, Christopher Phillips of Las Angeles, and Brian Phillips of Washington, D.C., and two sisters, Ruth Rolo and husband, Allen of Palco, Ka., and Bobbie Mitchel of Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Little, Barry Phillips, Jarrod Harelik, Josh Harelik, Ryan Roberts, and Joe A. Rubel. Eric Morrow will be an honorary pallbearer.
The family gives special thanks to the ICU staff at Providence Hospital.
