Wanda Stovall, age 79, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in a Waco hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Billy Edwards of Brazos Meadows Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Stovall was born June 8, 1930 in Eastland County, Texas. She and her husband owned a jewelry store in Midland for many years before they retired to Waco. "Nana", as her grandchildren called her, was a beautiful person who set a shining example for those who knew her. She loved playing dominoes and shopping, but her family was truly the light of her life. There's nothing she loved more than holding her new great grandson. The consummate wife, mother and grandmother, Nana showered her family with enough love to last them a lifetime. We will never forget her strength and can only hope to carry a fraction of her inspirational light forward.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clarence Stovall of Waco; daughter, Tina Stovall of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Mary Jo Widner of Ft. Worth, Blake Widner of Austin, and Alec Widner of Ft. Worth; great grandson, Gavin Ray of Ft. Worth; sister, Mona Abberton of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
