Welton Wesley Atchison, 82 of Waco passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be 10 am Saturday, August 20, 2005 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Lawless and Rev. Michael O. Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
He was born on February 21, 1923 in Kerens, Texas to John and Jessie Atchison. Wesley was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and had served in the United States Marine Corps Aviation. He had been employed by General Tire here in Waco for thirty years until his retirement.
Wesley is survived by the love of his life, his wife Melba of Waco; daughters, Martha Danford and husband Jerry of Flower Mound and Karen Sue Atchison of Mexia; granddaughters, Robin Acevedo and husband Ed of Katy and Jennifer Danford of Austin; great-granddaughter, Jessica Acevedo of Katy.
