Wilburn A. Hurst, born August 12, 1933 to Bessie Lorraine Hurst and Walter C. Hurst in Crawford Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at 5:35 a.m. at Providence Hospital after a long series of illnesses.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 7 at 2:30 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday, June 6, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wilburn (Sonny) was a disabled Air Force Veteran and an IBEW electrician for 63 years. He was a Mason, a member of Masonic Lodge #92, and an avid fisherman.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Fran Hurst of Waco; daughter, Donna Hurst Stukey and husband, Randal, of Garland; stepson, Mark Williams and wife, Michelle, of Denton; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Christina Williams, of Waco; grandson, Shawn Williams, of Sweetwater; nephews, Jim Iooss, of Orlando, Florida, Mike Gruesendorf, of Waco, and Tim Gruesendorf, of McGregor; and a niece, Debbie Welch, of Brenham.
He had a special place in his heart for all his cats, especially his favorites, URI AND CHERIE, and his dog, JAKE !
