Willard W. Barber, 83, of Waco passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his residence.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at the OakCrest Chapel with the Rev. Carroll Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. A visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Waco.
Willard was born November 30, 1927, in Tokio, TX. to Charles Willard and Ollie (Lowe) Barber.
Willard served in the U.S. Army during World War II. An avid Baylor fan, he attended games home and away for more than fifty years. He was a Baylor University Alumni by choice. Willard retired from General Tire after 38 years. His most valued contribution is the love he demonstrated for his family.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jane Rice; and son, Steven Barber.
Willard is survived by his loving wife, Billie Barber of Waco; three daughters, Jeannie Regan and husband, Jim of Garland, Becky Nichols of Waco and daughter-in-law, Laura Wright; four sons, Johnny Barber of Waco, Billy Barber of Whitney, Ronnie Barber of Gatesville and Jack Barber and wife, Diane of West; twenty one grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
