Rev. William Maurice Hill, 69, of Waco, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services for Rev. Hill will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at the First Woodway Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Toby and Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. Friday, at the church.
William Maurice Hill was born January 16, 1941 in Greenville to the Rev. William Morris Hill and Mary Lou Kennedy Hill. He grew up in Naples, Texas. Rev. Hill graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1959 and graduated from Baylor University in 1963. His years as a pastor were spent in churches in the Waco area, Martin Springs, Sulfur Springs, Royce City, McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange and Trinity Baptist Church in Henderson. Rev. Hill retired from the ministry in 2001 when he moved to Waco and worked for Ultra Clean Janitorial Services for 9 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Hill is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Hill of Waco; sons, W. Michael Hill and wife, Susan of Tyler and Mark Hill and wife, Darcie of Rowlett; his grandchildren, Hudson Bolton Hill, Hannah Kennedy Hill, Callie Caroline Hill and Abbie Grace Hill; several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many cousins.
In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials may be directed to Providence Hospice.
