William Clyde Pantel

William Clyde "Bill" Pantel, 75, of Waco, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with Father Rakshaganathan Selvaraj officiating. His burial will be private.
Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 22, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m.
Bill was born in Muskogee, Okla., to Howard and Marion (Saunders) Pantel. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Margaret Embach on October 15, 1960. He had a long and successful marketing career in special sales. He moved to Waco in 1990, and was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church. For several years, he portrayed the character of "Old Doc" at the Dr. Pepper Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pantel; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Embach of Athens, Ga., and Judith Ann Collis of Tulsa, Okla.; nephews, John Wares, James Collis, Brian Humphrey, Bruce Humphrey and their families; numerous cousins; and his beloved pets, Annie, Sugar, Oscar, Boots, and Shadow Baby.
