William Melvin Pundt, “Bill”, passed away at age 90. Funeral services will be at OakCrest Funeral Home on Monday, October 31, at 1 pm, with Dr. Kevin Harrison, President of West Coast Bible College and Seminary to officiate. Burial will follow at Rosemond Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, October 30 at OakCrest Funeral Home.
William was born April 16, 1926 in Waco, Texas. He attended school in Fairview, Texas. In 1945, he married Grace Evalyna Anderson. They were together 61 years and were blessed with three children. Most of their married life was spent in Dallas and DeSoto, Texas where he worked as a Union Carpenter for 43 years. In 1989, Bill retired and moved back to his childhood home in China Spring, Texas where he enjoyed life as a rancher.
As a young man he enjoyed playing ball, water-skiing, fishing and hunting. Bill continued to be active even in retirement. In his 80’s, he was still known for his daily rides on his dirt bike and four-wheeler. His family and friends will remember Bill for his strong work ethic and ability to repair anything in his ingenious, creative ways. Bill was a devoted husband, loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who took great pride in his ability to provide for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Fred William and Mary (Luedke) Pundt; brother, Marvin E. Pundt; daughter, Carolyn Kay Duffer; and his wife of 61 years, Grace Evalyna (Anderson) Pundt.
He is survived by his son, Steve D. Pundt and wife, Linda of Duncanville, Texas; son, Bruce R. Pundt of China Spring, Texas; grandchildren; Steve E. Pundt of China Spring, Texas, Jeff Duffer and wife, Margrette of Euless, Texas, Brian D. Duffer and wife, Selena of Weatherford, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jessica Duffer, Brianna Duffer, Kaylee Duffer and Brinlee Duffer; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
