Mr. William (Bill) Calvin Rogers, Jr., 85, of Speegleville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, February 6, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Mark Deering as celebrant. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation.
Bill was born at Malone, Texas on October 1, 1923 to William Rogers Sr. and Leanna Adeline Partain. Bill married Irene Veselka on February 8, 1945 in Waco. He worked for Central Freight Line for 34 years as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Bill loved hunting and fishing and making annual trips to Childress for dove hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Rogers; daughter, Diane Kevil and husband, Bill; son, Calvin Rogers and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Brian Kevil, Lisa Kevil, Jason Kevil, Shelli Ferris, and Austin Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Meghan and Malorie Kevil, and Makayla and Eli Ferris.
