Winford H. (Pee Wee) Johnson, 86, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 in Waco, Texas.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Hardin Cemetery in Bee Branch, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas.
Winford was born in Morganton, Arkansas on December 11, 1921 to Clarence and Charlcie Johnson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. On December 25, 1947, he married Faye Smith. His work as a wholesale magazine distributor brought them to Farmington, MO for many years and eventually took them to Festus, MO where they lived for over 30 years.
Winford was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Faye Johnson of Waco, TX; two daughters, Sherry Cragen and her husband, Bob of Waco and Mary Ann Thurman of Festus; one sister, Wilma Turney and her husband, Glen of Higden, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Sean Thurman of Festus and Kelly Cragen and Andrea Cragen of Austin, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Thurman of St. Louis.
Winford was a life member of the VFW and a faithful member of the Norman Rigdon VFW Post in Farmington as well as a member of the Elks Lodge in Farmington.
